“ Found this great place on our cross country trip from Alaska, yes we drove 12500 miles round trip. Had clam chowder, 2 whole lobsters, and 12 Cajun shrimp. Wow,just wow. Wonderful taste, only 2 tables inside but the local to go business was amazing to see. Thanks again ”
“ Amazing lobster and crab rolls, both reasonably priced. Very homey shack, one can also get live lobsters to go. The flavoring on both rolls was subtle, but that allowed the natural tastes and sweetness of the lobster and crab to come through. Sort of a side of the road place, so if you miss it, you'll have to double back. But it'll be worth it! ”
“ Honey stop the car! $12.00 crab rolls and outdoor seating! The rolls were toasted with a dollop of mayo and sprinkled with pepeika. Yummy meal after a day at the beach! ”
“ This was my first visit to Maine so my friends chose this spot because it's their favorite lobster however we had already eaten at another place with stunning views but we weren't quite done. I really wanted another lobster roll however I already had two at the other place so I decided on a bucket of steamers. They were really good and I regret not pushing to get the roll but I didn't want to be sick. The only negative about this place is it's right on the road and not very pretty however that's why the prices are great. Looking forward to coming back the next time. ”
“ After reading the reviews, we decided to give this place a try. Originally, we were going to try another place but decided against it after reading the reviews. Upon entering, the place is small and cute, with the place resembling a fishing shop. Pictures and knickknacks adorn every corner of the place, with a Sony radio playing music on a shelf in a back corner. The restaurant has a very homey vibe and you'll really feel like you're in a harbor town when you step in here. We ordered the following: Lobster roll- this was delicious. It was our favorite roll ever. There wasn't any mayo on it. Just all lobster. Shrimp roll with potato salad- Daughter liked it a lot and thought it was delicious and would definitely order it again. Bucket of steamers - it's been a while since we've had this. It was tasty and we forgot how gritty they were. I burned the roof of my mouth when I first took a bite but it was delicious. Daughter had a good time cleaning the clam and eating it. It was her first time. Stuffed scallop- this reminded us of stuffed quahog. It had a lot of breading and tasted ok. I saw a sign that tells you to reheat it by putting it into a microwave. I wonder if they microwaved ours. Clam chowder- this was pretty good. Hubs said that he liked it a lot and that it wasn't too creamy, which he doesn't care for. Everything tasted pretty good. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have the twin lobster dinner. Their kitchen is outdoors. I see this guy going outside with the orders and cooking it. It was cool to see that. Will definitely return when in the area to try other items on the menu! ”
“ Small, no frills shack but service is always great! Had the twin lobsters for $22 today, where can you ever find that in Maine? And the lobsters were hard shell, so much meat. Steamed clams were sweet and delicious. BF had the haddock chowder and I had clam chowder.. we both enjoyed it. One of my favorite places in Maine. I'll be back soon so we can sit outside and eat. ”
“ We caught this place on the first day of their 2024 season. At 3 PM we were only the second customer of the day. The roll was a classic, no thrills but everything you want from a lobster roll and one of the best prices we have seen. Small establishment with great charm! We look forward to seeing them thrive as season blooms. ”
“ Stopped here on the way up to Portland and was happy we did. Small building where they sell fresh seafood, some prepared food, and made-to-order food. Service was prompt and friendly. Some small tables inside and benches inside if you want to eat there. Only tried the lobster roll this time, but it's one of the best lobster rolls I've had. Full pieces of knuckle and claw meat, just a touch of mayo, light dusting of paprika(?). Lobster is fresh and seasoned lightly (just right). The paprika, which is what I think it was, doesn't really add anything aside from a visual component. Others here have commented on this, but the price is unbeatable at $18 (pre-tax/tip) for a 4 oz lobster roll. The only thing I would change is that they didn't seem to butter the roll before toasting/grilling it. Why wouldn't you butter it the roll?? Anyway, great lobster roll. Would definitely recommend. Just goes to show you that lobster rolls don't need to be fancy, or absurdly expensive. ”
“ If you're on a Maine foodie tour and looking for a delicious lobster roll, steamers, stuffies, or cooked lobster, Scarborough Fish & Lobster is a must. This is a glorified lobster shack on the way to Portland- where you order inside at the counter, take a seat and wait, or dine outdoors on the BYOB patio. You can see the lobsters in the tubs, and the plates have directions and pictures for how to disassemble and eat a lobster. We were grateful for those directions. This spot is family-owned, and the owners and employees put a lot of love into what they do, especially with mementos on the walls and even a visitor guestbook you can sign. If you're local, you can also purchase fish to take home and cook yourself. My husband and I sampled a lobster roll, steamers, and a whole lobster. We shared so we could try a few different things and also stop at other "shacks". The Maine lobster roll is served cold, with light mayo that doesn't drown the taste of the meat. It was absolutely delicious, and I'd return on a future visit or recommend Scarborough Lobster. ”
